We’ve got some long Easter holiday here in Bulgaria – about a week off work. It was actually my longest vacation since last October and I’ve decided to make the most of it, sitting at home and relaxing (most of my holidays are actually somewhere outside the city or even the country), so to some degree it was a nice change and I managed to “recharge the batteries”
So I’ve got plenty of time for some prolonged gaming sessions. Currently I am getting as much impressions as possible from some f2p games, as I am willing to have an article about their pros and cons but would like to try some more games out before writing down the article.
Meanwhile after two months of waiting finally me and Evgeni sat down and played quite a bit of Civilization V multiplayer and I must say it is a fun experience with its flaws in comparison to the single player game. As good as the AI could be in the game, if you decide to play cooperatively at some point you might be disappointed as it decides to denounce other AIs you are currently trying to make friends with just to trade your resources away. And it is really not cool. Or as I wrote in the Civilization V article – you can always expect the unexpected. For example from the beginning of one of the session I playing as Germany was befriended with Austria for the good part of the game, constantly attacking the Aztecs. And when I’ve decided to stop the war as it was going nowhere I’ve got attacked from the new alliance – Austria and the Aztecs. This however could not happen when you play with your friends of course (or if it happens though, than you really have some strange friends there). Game continue to amaze me with its cool randomness and I have a blast playing a coop with Evgeni. It seems his empire is currently doing much better than mine, but the coop alone and helping each other on every turn is enough after all for me. The only think I do not like is, that only the host could save the game, that animations should be checked as alternative option (quick combat by default) and no pop ups when discovering new techs and wonders or clearing a camp, which I have no idea why has not been added to the multiplayer but it is quite annoying.
I’ve also managed to bring my cousin to War thunder and had some games together. I am still in love with this game and slowly climbing the ladder. With over 100 hours in it, I must say that higher tiers are better than lower if you like a true competition – planes are getting much better, one accurate shot could mean victory or defeat and players all in all are much better compared to those in the lower tiers.
With some luck I got in some pretty intense weather conditions and got some cool screenshots which I would like to share down in the gallery with you. Oh, and I got my best game ever while waiting one of the evenings for the game sessions with Evgeni – 12 kills and 0 deaths. It is like be two times and a half an ace in just one sessions, hehe. It is interesting how I got some comments that I am using some kind of premium bullets, planes, self guided World War II missiles (may be with nuclear war heads, who knows) when I was just playing smart. But it was to be expected from such a game.
